The BFA entrance exam provides admission to three prestigious fine arts institutions in Kerala:
- College of Fine Arts, Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram
- Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Mavelikkara
- College of Fine Arts, Thrissur
Exam Schedule & Structure
The 2025 examination was conducted with the following schedule:
Part I: Drawing Test (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM)
- Duration: 2 hours
- Marks: 100
- Eligibility: Candidates applying for BFA in Applied Arts, Painting, and Sculpture
- Paper Size: Half Imperial
- Allowed Materials: Graphite pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B), Staedtler Pencils, Charcoal pencils, Glass marking pencil (Black)
Question Paper:
Break Period (11:00 AM - 11:30 AM)
A 30-minute break was provided between Part I and Part II.
Part II: General Knowledge in Art and Culture (11:30 AM - 12:00 PM)
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Total Marks: 25
- Structure:
- Part A: 20 multiple-choice questions (1 mark each)
- Part B: 1 descriptive question (5 marks)

This section was specifically for candidates applying for BFA Art History & Visual Studies.
Part IV: Creative Tests (1:30 PM - 3:30 PM)

Candidates had a choice between three options:
Option A: Design Test
- Paper Size: Half Imperial
- Medium: Colour Pencils / Water Colour / Oil Pastels
Option B: Creative Painting Test
- Paper Size: Half Imperial size
- Medium: Oil pastels / Water colour
Option C: Creative Sculpture Test
- Duration: 2 hours
- Marks: 100
- Medium: Clay slabs (10 x 7 x 2 inches)
